AUTHOR

They call him, Rollerboy

Jayson Sutcliffe is a Melbourne-based writer and former world champion in roller figure skating. After a decorated career on wheels, he turned to storytelling—releasing his memoir Rolaboi in 2001, which later won the TaleFlick Discovery “Book to Movie” competition and was optioned by Fortune Films.

His documentary Rollerboy was a finalist at the 2011 Sydney Film Festival, following the success of Jesus Can’t Skate, which won the Audience Award at the 2006 Australian International Film Festival.

 

Over the past 18 months, Jayson has written two fiction novels and launched a children’s book series, The Tiniest Snowflake, which debuted as a No. 1 “Hot New Release” in December 2024. His feature screenplays have also received acclaim from WeScreenplay and the Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards.
